Dijon A Hidden Jewel

My husband and I recently returned from France where we spent 10 days in the lovely city of Dijon. Dijon is Paris without the attitude and the prices. The food is superb and the people delightful. It is a foodies paradise. The central market, which is open three mornings a week, is enough to make one salivate. The restaurants, from Michelin starred to humble bistros, are enough to make one gain ten pounds.

We rented a huge studio apartment from Coco (www.myhomeindijon.com) and her home became our home. We could fall out of bed and into the Ducal Palace and the Central Market. The apartment came equipped with everything anyone could ever want including a computer. I was even able to make aioli using the hand held blender that I found in the closet.

In addition to stocking the refrigerator and the pantry with more than enough to get you started, Coco picks you up and deposits you back at the Dijon train station. She is a whirlwind of charm and a natural born "innkeeper".

Dijon is not a city to be missed. It is an easy 1 and 1/2 hour ride from Paris on the fast train. If you go, and you should, be sure to make My Home In Dijon yours too.
