Once again we headed for our favorite spot to go on vacation...Pompano Beach,Florida. We have become quite familiar with the area and love the beautiful beach and friendly locals. Rarely is it crowded, which is great for us.We stayed at Harbor Cove Resort (RCI) on N. Ocean Blvd. There were plenty of opportunities to do water sports with all the rentals in the area.We also appreciated the frequent number of times the beaches were cleaned. Safety was not a concern at this location .However, we avoided the beach area at night.
Nearby was a mall, theater for rainy afternoons, and plenty of restaurants.The resort has a famous awesome tiki bar always crowed with locals.The food was actually quite good and very cheap. Music whether live or recorded plays all day and until closing. Very popular is the oldies sound.
The other restaurant offers a quietier atmosphere and though more expensive,the menu has lots to choose from.The fried shrimp was great!
We took a ride on the Jungle Queen in Ft Lauderdale one night. It takes about four hours, costs around thirty-five dollars, and is a great experience.The price includes all-you-can-eat buffet of shrimp and ribs. this also includes entertainment and a tour of the harbor homes in Ft Lauderdale.Well worth the trip!
