Longboat Key, on Florida's west coast, is an absolute dream vacation spot...especially for vacationers from the north, looking for some Florida warmth during the winter months!
Our week of timeshare at the "Little Gull" resort in mid-January was just so lovely! Our "Unit" was actually a free-standing rambler style house! It was a very unique unit, it seemed like "home"! I think it was the only one of its kind at the resort.
Little Gull is located on Gulf of Mexico Drive, on the northern part of Longboat Key. The resort hosted an outdoor barbeque and potluck by the pool one evening, which gave us a good chance to meet others at the resort.
Also, the resort hosts a Monday morning get-together of coffee, juice, and rolls. Again, a good chance to meet fellow vacationers!
St. Armand's Circle is THE place for shopping on Longboat! I have very fond memories of my time there!
You're not far from Sarasota, and you don't want to miss the "John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art Complex", which consists of the couple's winter mansion, and historic theater, too. The Art Musuem Courtyard is filled with statues, fountains and columns. A "must see" when you're in this part of the Sunshine State!
A vacation on Longboat Key will not be forgotten anytime soon!
