Begur - Hotel Agua Blava

I had a Spanish friend take me for lunch here otherwise I never would have stumbled upon this beautiful hotel. I'm not sure if it's a blessing or a curse that the internet has made this place more accessible. The views from this hotel are stunning. It's truly a secluded Shangri-la. The property consists of several buildings so it never feels crowded even at the height of the season. You can play croquet, ping pong, swim in a salt pool, bygone era luxury hotel amenities. The staff is local and worked there most of their life resulting in a very attentive and pampered service. The rooms are nice, extremely clean and comfortable. But it's all about the location, service, and atmosphere. The price is high due to meals included, but once there, you don't want to leave. Plus the food is wonderful, the breakfast is especially nice with a large variety of local specialty fish, cured meats and an awesome automated coffee that offers about 20 different styles and types of morning beverages. The tiny town of Begur is close and really quaint for a nice afternoon or evening venture out. The clientele is very European and English is spoken due to the high number of British guests. This place is great for a romantic vacation or even a European style family vacation
