When we got dropped off at the designated bus stop from Philippine Rabbit, there were standing a couple of men with large ID tags identifying themselves as "tourist information" and then said they were also taxi drivers.

One of them attached himself onto us like a leech, taking us to our hotel but negotiated a much higher rate than being on the meter. He was a sleaze ball right off the bat and we shouldn't have hired him. He took us to our hotel for PHP50 instead of what would have been considerably less being on the meter, as it was less than a five minute ride. We paid him off and didn't want to have anything more to do with that driver.

We were given a reference to call from an acquaintance that used his service as a hired driver for a couple of days, his name is Augusto Arede, mobile +63 (074) 445-4626 which we called and hired him to take us around to the farther parts around Baguio City which we wouldn't have been able to cover on our own in a day. He is a very nice, gentle, old driver and brought his son along. We negotiated a rate that was agreeable to all. He took us around to places my partner decided to see, coming along to the attractions, we bought lunch for everyone, my partner wanted to buy a souvenir but didn't have the proper change, Augusto had the correct amount and fronted up the money for the purchase. It was all quite a pleasant experience, almost like a family outing for everyone concerned. We ended up spending six hours with them when we were done for the day, paid him for his time plus a tip on top.

The next day, Augusto saw us walking around the streets of Baguio, stopped to say hello and see if we needed his service again for the day, we thanked him and informed him we're just walking around on foot that day, but thought it was nice that he recognized us and stopped to say hello and see if we needed him again.
