Anchorage definitely isn't a city built by city people. Here you will find vast tracts of green space and lots of biking, hiking, and cycling trails, all meticulously planned to showcase Alaska's well-deserved reputation as a wilderness paradise. Anchorage is definitely one of the most beautiful cities we have visited. Plants here get so huge due to the long daylight hours in summer. On a clear day, you can also see the magnificent view of Denali from the city. There is an interesting Sunday market held on weekends here that is worth a look. Another place worth going to is the "Ulu" factory, where traditional Alaskan curved knives are made. You can spend an entire day at the fantastic museums too. The Log Cabin Visitor Center has lots of useful information and the staff is extremely friendly too.
