Guide to the top restaurants in Copenhagen

Best of IgoUgo

I ate at as many restaurants as humanly possible during my trip (see my reviews). Just as importantly, I did a lot of research and asked many people about the best restaurants to make sure I got a taste of the best Copenhagen had to offer. Following is an easy to use list of many of the best restaurants. If you are eating at these restaurants, then you are eating some great food, (although you pay for the quality):

- Godt (see review): Fantastic food; small, intimate dining area; interesting chef.
- Kommandanten: The highest rated Michelin guide restaurant in Copenhagen; hard to get reservations, but a magnificent dining experience.
- Pierre Andre: Elicits raves from anyone who hears the names; superb French cuisine; small dining area.
- Divan I and II: Good food inside Tivoli Gardens; closed during the winter.
- Akvavit (see review): Great location; good food; cozy dining area.
- Krogs Fiskerestaurant (see review): Superb seafood restaurant; great location; elegant dining room.
- Passagens Spiesehus (see review): Very good Nordic food; small, quiet dining area.
- Sollerod Kro: Very idyllic; quaint, romantic dining; excellent food; outside of Copenhagen.
- Soren K: Excellent food; located in Royal Library.
- Viva: New restaurant located on a boat with an interesting Scandinavian interior; nice food.
- Louise Nimb: Good food; located in Tivoli Gardens; closed during winter.
- Kong Hans Kaelder: Great Nordic food.
- Hai Loo (see review): Probably the best Chinese food in town.
- Konrad: Nice food; stylish, trendy; good place for a drink; good people-watching; also a popular bar.
- A few other choices for good measure: Era Ora; Cilatro Bar and Grill; La Crevette.
