More Details on Central Blue

We paid A$75 for an en-suite room, hoping that at least we would get a clean bed and room. Upon check-in, we found that the bed linens and comforter were dirty and very smelly. We had to put our clothing on top of the pillows in order to sleep. The carpet had dirt all over it, literally large dirt balls. The bath towels were also very smelly, and so faded that they must have been purchased years ago. The toilet and sink were very dirty as well and obviously not cleaned by staff before our visit. The blinds were broken and had to be fixed by staff during our stay.

Also, as indicated on their website, reception was supposed to be open all day until 6pm. However, when we showed up at 3pm, the hostel was closed and we had to wander around the town until 5:30pm. In the lounge area, we found stained female underwear on a sofa when we had our morning breakfast (breakfast not included). The kitchen was piled with dirty dishes and smelt of rotten food. I am wondering if with the price we paid (A$75, plus a 2% credit card charge, totaling $78), the hostel cannot even provide the essentials (not even a hook to hang your clothes). Overall, it seemed like the room had not been cleaned for months. The room looked as if it was 40 years old. We even had to ask for towels and toilet paper.
