Not a lot going on this week, apart from the crazy weather that we have been having! At the start of the week, there were forest fires, and now at the end we are having tornado warnings, horrendous storms and in the space of a single day, the daytime temperature has dropped from 24 degrees to 4 degrees! There might even be a little snow later as well!!
Had the pleasure of attending my first gig in the US, seeing Bright Eyes, Feist, and Magic Numbers (apparently their first U.S. gig, but a fair few of the crowd already seemed to know the words to their songs!). Both Magic Numbers and Feist (Leslie Feist, the lead singer use to be in Placebo, but don't judge Feist entirely on this fact!) were worthy support acts of the lyrical genius that is Conor Oberst, and apart from him not being able to string a sentence together between songs and throwing his toys out the pram half way through the set (I think because he was so wasted!!) it was another quality performance. Bright Eyes are definitely one of my current favourites.
There also seems to be a new craze sweeping the neighbourhood (there's also the chance that it's just one bored, unemployed person!), as whenever I go running there seems to be numerous starlings along the pavement, all shot dead!! I've seen three new ones already this week, and as I run past them on a daily basis, I just hope whoever's carrying out these hideous crimes doesn't decide to turn their attentions to something a little bigger, like me!!!
Well that's more or less all for this week. I have had my first proper American shopping experience, and with the cheap prices and strong exchange rate, I was having the time of my life, and can see myself having a few more shopping experiences before I leave! My flight to Poland has also been booked, costing the ridiculous sum of £16. I have decided that I will be flying back from the French Riviera afterwards (not exactly sure yet but Montpellier is favourite at the moment!), so at least I'll get to see some more of Europe. I have also applied for jobs in Mexico and Costa Rica for next Summer, but I'm sure there will be many more in the next few weeks!
