Key West Stories and Tips

Cuban Influences

San Carlos Institute Photo, Key West, Florida

This building was built in 1924, after the original structure was damaged in the hurricane of 1919. It was Cuban architect Francisco Centurion who designed this building.

We've never been inside the building, but the outside is worth the attention.

Now it's an art gallery, a theater, and a museum, and it offers guided tours and film presentations. (in English and Spanish)
