Key West is famous for the old wooden buildings, but let us not forget the lush tropical trees and flowers. I find that one of the great things about Key West; The Flora.
What grows in Key West:
Of course palm trees, almond, sapodilla, mango, sugar, apple, lime, lemon, orange, Spanish lime, pineapple, etc.
Also a variety of flowering tree like Royal Poinciana, Jasmine, Poinsettia and Bergamont.
Everywhere on the island you’ll see tropical flowers blooming.
With their variety of colors and sculptural forms, I find it a very beautiful flower. This plant grows well in the Southern Florida area. At home were I live, the Heliconia caribaea is popular in the cut flower trade.
