Sunday 9th March, we bused it again with Greyhound to Las Vegas for 7 nights. Now here is a 24-hour, non-stop, razzle-dazzle place. We were staying at the quiet end of the Strip, but close enough to walk everywhere. At night, the lights are just amazing, and during the day, the opulence of the hotels/casinos is breathtaking. The casinos offer fairly cheap food and drinks to keep you gambling, there are lots of free shows everywhere. Circus Circus has excellent free circus acts running every half-hour from 11:30am to midnight every day, just to name one, but I could fill a page with all of them. At night, they also have spectacular shows all up and down the Strip, from musical fountains and erupting volcanos to a pirate ship and an English ship firing at each other, with one sinking. Celine Dion was just about to start her 3-year season at Caesars Palace. We saw some really excellent shows – I bet you thought Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, and Elvis were all dead – no, they are alive and well and performing in Vegas! We had a great time and will return later.
