We enjoyed our recent weeklong stay at the Sheraton Desert Oasis. We had the one bedroom unit with a full kitchen. Truly one of the best condos we've stayed in during our vacationing adventures. Besides an adequate kitchen, dining area, televisions/VCR/stereo, etc., they have an amazing jacuzzi tub in the bedroom and a great, two-showerhead shower that was incredible. The bed was a bit uncomfortable by our standards, but we're spoiled with our setup at home, so don't be too put off by that comment.
Service was first-rate, and I took full advantage of having the concierge set up golf tee times for my son and I (and for a friend we met hanging around the pool who joined us for rounds later in the week). We also received excellent replies to all our inquiries and requests. And the staff in both the main public areas and the ground crews were all very friendly.
The pool and hot tub are incredible. The location couldn't make for easier access to freeways and all major Scottsdale thoroughfares. But I'd like to see them add a good game room (when not swimming or just relaxing in the condo, there wasn't much onsite to do).
We were impressed by the number of activities they had scheduled for children but overall disappointed in the execution of them. After the initial "get to know you" that quite a few kids attended, very few seemed to try again. In short, the resort has good intentions but could really use a full commitment to helping entertain and give creative outlets to kids (if they were interested in attracting more family business). And it needs more than just the rather small activity room it offers.
My understanding is that the resort might be thinking of dropping RCI. I hope they don't. We'd like to stay there again.
