My husband and I had a great time in Pigeon Forge. Most people who go there want to go to Dollywood, but since this was our first trip without the children we decided to skip the theme parks and enjoy the town. There are a lot of small stores you should see. They reflect the history of town. They have shops that make taffy right there in the store and you can watch. There are also a lot of art stores that show the beauty and history of the mountains.
If there, I also recommend not leaving without seeing some of the wonderful homemade quilts that are made there. Another thing you can do is ride the trolley. It will take you all through Pigeon Forge. A good way to see the town. Also, they have connecting trolleys that run to Gatlinburg, which is only five miles from Pigeon Forge.
I just have to say one more thing. If you are looking for the world’s best banana split, then you should visit Mel's Dinner. It is a small dinner in Pigeon Forge. It is not for the people who want to eat in an elegant place. It is a small town dinner with a big town taste.
