The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is like stepping back in time. The buildings remind you of the escapes for the advantaged in the ‘50s and ‘60s. We were there during the children’s golf classic and saw a group of kids out front learning how to croquet. There are nice little benches to rest and enjoy the view. The tree-lined sidewalks were beautiful and made for some nice pictures.
The beaches were large, and Blackbeard’s restaurant gives you a great view of the ocean with a nice patio to sit and relax on while enjoying the view or waiting for a table. There was another restaurant on the island called Seajays that had the most wonderful view of the sunset you could find. I recommend going early and beating out the crowd.
This is a nice relaxing island, and if you don't stay there, visit any day other than Sunday, when things close earlier.
