We drove to Kill Devil Hills, NC one day to visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial. It took us about 3 hours, but the scenery was pretty and the roads were excellent. Our timing was perfect, and we arrived just in time for an excellent presentation concerning Orville and Wilbur Wright's first flight. Afterwards, we looked at all of the exhibits in the Visitor Center, and then walked around outside to view the flight path used by the Wright Brothers and also the replicas of the two camp buildings they used during their stays in the area. We returned to the Visitor Center and bought books and tee shirts for our grandchildren and then decided to drive over to the Wright Brothers Monument, rather than walk. We had an educational visit at the Wright Brothers National Memorial and highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in history and/or aviation.
