Coronado Stories and Tips

Support the Sailors

We visited Coronado Island to have lunch with my cousin, stationed on the John C. Stennis. The Navy base, which takes up about half the 'island,' which is actually an isthmus, not an island, is the workplace of thousands of individuals who have made a committment to lay down their lives for our freedom. Apparently, these individuals may get a little 'enthusiastic' from time to time and annoy the other locals on the island. There is reportedly a bit of a rivalry between the Seamen and the Civilians. We noted a car that had painted on the back window, "Love the Navy or Get off the Island." Seemed like good advice to us!
