I know many people worry about medical care in Mexico, so now that we have had call to experience it, I want to briefly share the experience. My wife badly twisted her knee on a downtown P.V. bus, so we took a cab to the Amerimed Care clinic at the entrance to the Marina. She was seen almost immediately, unlike the E.R. at home, and shown to a clean, comfortable room. That generally describes the whole clinic. Very modern and professional. The doctor ordered X-rays, which were negative for anything broken, and gave her some pain medication and a full-length wraparound splint. Altogether, we were ready to leave in only a couple of hours. And the cost of all this? I held my breath waiting for the bill, thinking, "This is gonna hurt." US$290, that's it, total. My mind is very much put at ease regarding “what-if” medical scenarios in Mexico.
