Waimarino Adventure Park

Waimarino Photo, New Zealand, South Pacific

It's hard to categorise Waimarino, the only classification of it that I can make is that it's excellent value for money. We paid just $25 to spend the day there, and for that, we could have unlimited kayak use on the river, and unlimited use of all the other activities in the park. Amongst other things, there is a climbing wall, trampoline, hot pools, tight-rope walk, and scramble nets.

We spent a couple of hours kayaking up and down the river, which was an easy paddle, and quite relaxing, and the rest of the time playing on the other equipment. If the weather is warm, there are a couple of slides landing in the river, or you and a friend can have a go on the gladiator-style wrestling poles which hang over the river (although one or both of you are guaranteed to land in the drink!!).

There was a very cute resident dog called Fred there, who was quite happy to catch a ride with us on the kayaks, which gave us some very cool photos!! Waimarino Adventure Park is just outside Tuaranga, on the Bethlehem road, and is well worth a visit.
