Despite the fact that I spent hours hearing about the future of our company, I have to say, that I really enjoyed my time at the Cranwell Resort and in the Berkshires. Whenever I found a free moment, I would sit by the fireplace in the main house (it was February, and freezing cold outside, so day or night, it was always burning), on an old-fashioned leather couch and write in my journal, enjoying the view of the grounds from the windows. In the morning, I would button up and head over to the main house from the Founders Cottage, and was staggered by the beauty of smoke coming off the mountains (fireplaces from homes unseen). The Berkshires are beautiful and peaceful year round, and I wish I could have seen more of them.
A winter storm blew in one night, but I was in my cozy yellow room in the company of a great friend and barely even noticed. That's how cozy this place was, that I fell into it...and had a hard time leaving it when the time came at the end of the week.
Go to the Berkshires, and when you do, take a lover. It's the best way to see this quiet New England joy.
