Playacar, a subsection in the town of Playa Del Carmen in the state of Quintana Roo (The Riviera Maya), is a secret to many Americans who stop at Cancun for fun in the sun. Just a short drive, no more than 30 minutes away, lies paradise.
Filled with culture that people are readily interested in sharing with tourists, this place was breathtaking! If you were to walk along a road in Playacar you could stmble upon Mayan ruins tucked away in the bushes. The shopping in Playa Del Carmen was pretty good too - excellent trinkets and a manageable price. You can bargain there as well.
There are so many places to go too - Tulum, Chichen Itza, Xcaret - you won't stay on the resort long.
