Hot Springs Stories and Tips

Wow, that's why they call it

Just south of the Arlington in a small park is a pool where one of the hot springs is still accessible. After my wife and I each put our hands and feet in the water and said "Wow, that's hot", (actually, we barely touched the water), a park ranger told us that the water was 143 degrees. Yet we didn't get burned. (Don't try this at home.) There are no signs at the pool, so please make sure no one jumps in. The water has no odor. Before you get concerned about the water temperature in the baths, it's cooled to around 102. The city has a number of fountains where you can get your own water. You can bring empty bottles from home, or buy gallon jugs from vendors.
