This isn't as out of place as it sounds. We decided that we were not going to be able to make the trip (by car) to Gatlinburg in one day, so we had to decide about where to stop overnight. After getting out my trusty map, I determined that we could visit another very interesting area on our way to (and from) our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. We stayed at the main hotel that is part of the Natural Bridge area. We wandered around some of the paths and streams as we were walking to the Bridge. It is an absolutely mammouth creation of nature. If you look very closely, you could even see the cars overhead, driving across the Bridge. The Natural Bridge is considered one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. They have an evening show at the bridge, as it is getting dark, where they shine colored lights on the area, as background music fills the air. Very relaxing, even if the air had a bit of a chill. I felt like I was in church. It was very moving. You cannot get the full effect of the Bridge, though, in the evening. You can't really appreciate how big it actually is. Talk about feeling really insignificant in the grand scheme of things!
