These are two of my favourite places to go here in Ft. Worth. They are located southwest of the downtown area. If you are into nature in a big way as I am, I highly recommend them.
The Botanic Garden is just that - a lovely spot always in bloom. On any given day in the spring and summer you can see a wedding going on, and if you draw or paint you can find subjects galore.
The Japanese Garden is right next door, and boasts a huge variety of Asian plants - flowers, trees, and what must be a hundred varieties of bamboo. There is also a bit of Japanese architecture, and ponds with koi fish to feed.
Both parks are right across the street from the Fort Worth Zoo, but as I haven't been to the zoo in ages I won't say any more.
