Newport RI is a great town for sightseeing. Visiting the mansions, walking the cliff walk and riding along Ocean Drive was great. The town has some great little shops as well as outlets. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from. Sardelli's was terrific. The weather was a little colder than I like it. It's probably better to go a little later in the year...but then you have to contend with higher prices and more people.
The visitors center located in the center of town is a wealth of information. It's well worth stopping in before you plan your activities.
If your planning on dining out...buy the dining coupon book. It's like a mini "entertainment book". It cost $24 and has buy one get on free coupons for about 50 local reataurants.
The resort was ideally located within walking distance of all the major "in town" activities. Our unit had 2 nice size bedrooms, a view of the harbor and 2 patios. This kitchen was "mini", but sufficient for our needs. We also enjoyed the fireplace.
This was my second visit to Newport...I would go back again!
