Whenever I go to Puerto Viejo, I get confused by language. I'm used to speaking Spanish, because that's the language in Costa Rica. But most natives of Puerto Viejo speak a Caribbean-flavored English, along with Spanish and Patois, a mixture of French, English, Spanish, and I don't know what else. And there are so many Germans, Swiss, and other random Europeans who have settled there that I'm never sure what I should speak to whom. I end up mostly just getting confused.
