Just Do It! Are you thinking about whether it is worth
taking your elementary school age (or younger) kids along
on a trip to Europe? My advice is go for it!
Yes, it will change the style of your trip somewhat.
But in some places, it'll force you to slow down and
enjoy things a little more rather than rushing from one
sight to the next. Kids are amazingly adaptable.
While they didn't learn the complete history of the
Roman empire, our children gained an appreciation for
quite a bit of art and history on our trip, we think.
They enjoyed climbing through the Colosseum. While the
number of museums we visited got a little much, they tolerated
it pretty well. In Rome, I can particularly recommend
the park around the Borghese galleries as a nice place to
spend some time.
