I will always dig Seattle Center. It's not really the center of anything, and its fortunes have waxed and waned since it first welcomed visitors to the city, but I hold a soft spot for it. It's always been a place where you can wander and enjoy open space in a very crowded city. The attractions are nice of course, but how rare is it to have acres of parkland within the urban boundary? It's a perfect day out, especially with a picnic on a summer day. Don't forget your umbrella.
