The countryside near Chartres would interest many people, especially those from farming areas. I found the hillcrest corn storage (like old-fashioned wire corn cribs built in a long line at the top of hills) to be unique. The fields of wheat and sunflowers are planted right up to the little country roads, and all equipment such as wheat headers must be taken to the field in wagons behind the tractors. The roads are not wide enough for combines with headers attached to go down the roads.
Beautiful on a sunny day!
