If you cross the bridge Pont Neuf on Jean Jarres Ave. coming from the downtown area, and turn left at the first opportunity, you will ascend a steep hill to the casern. Keep going left at the y, and park in from the the casern(as it is a military base, one cannot enter). Now you will have a view of all Poitiers. For the truly fit, there are stairs down to the river. As a child I used to use these steps to go to my piano lessons, but even though I am curious to know how many there are, I am not planning to use them again. If you do, please count them for me.
