If you like Huntington Gardens, you will love the Getty Museum.
The Getty is a bit of a drive from LA, but it is well worth it,
especially during the weekend. If you visit the Getty and want to park
in their parking lot, reservations are required during the week. The
Getty is right off the 405 north of Los Angeles. There are gardens and
wonderful galleries that are shown within an amazing architectural work
of art. Have lunch at the restaurant or make reservations for brunch. The
food is great (though a little pricey) and the view is even better.
Just a little warning: The Getty is closed Mondays. There is no fee to enter the Getty, but parking
will cost you $5 with a reservation during the week. There are no parking lots nearby, so you
will have to take mass transit LA bus. So, my suggestion is make a reservation to park your car in the
Getty parking lot and pay $5 during the week or visit during the weekend and go when it opens (or you will not get
a parking space).
The Getty is our favorite museum for the setting rather than what it
exhibits at the galleries. The Getty does have different exhibits
that are often great if you like a particular period of art.
