A few facts about Brasilia..

Brasilia was constructed between 1956 and 1960, during the government of President Juscelino Kubitschek. It was inaugurated, as Brazil's new capital, in April 21, 1960.

Its major buildings were designed by the famous Oscar Niemeyer, a renowned architect having been famous worldwide for his futuristic views.

Initially planned for only 500,000 inhabitants its population has swelled in less than 40 years to be over two million populace.

Several 'satellite' towns have been created to take care of this occurrence. It has some of the most beautiful sunsets seen to the eye.

Every where you go you will see green and virtually no pollution.

This appears like a dream in comparison to the other large cities of the world. Public buses are used when possible although car travel is more common.

Among some of the tourists sites you will see Congresso Nacional(Congress) and Palacio do Planalto ('Planalto Palace').

The president resides in Palacio da Alvorada (Palace of Dawn).

Also worth a look would be Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro (National Theater). Along the commercial streets that divide the superblocks of Pilot Plan there are many bars. Some of the most famous ones are 'Beirute', 'Libanus' and 'Sossega Madalena'.

There is quite a distance between buildings as seen a drawback.
