The air shows may well be the major reason for visiting Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome but they are not the only attraction available. Just cross the road and walk up the hill and you will be treated to a number of buildings that house many more aircraft of the represented periods. These are aircraft that are not presently flown in the shows or are awaiting restoration including many little known types. On the premises they also have a well-stocked gift shop, model museum and basic food and drink. Be sure and bring your camera and lots of film. A long lens in the 180mm range will yield some excellent shots during the shows. I am sure if you are even just casually interested in aviation or history or just out for a unique experience you'll enjoy Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
