Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is located on Stone Church Road just Northeast of the town of Rhinebeck NY and holds two different air shows each weekend during the season which runs from mid June through mid October, show time is 2:30 PM but the field opens at 10:00 AM. You can reach them by phone at 914-758-8610 or on the net at www.oldrhinebeck.org. On Saturday they feature aircraft of the first three decades of flight and on Sunday the aircraft from WWI are the stars of the show. With the Sunday show a somewhat droll melodrama in the style of "The Perils of Pauline" is the premise for the use of the aerodrome's aircraft, vehicles and other antiques. Sir Percy Goodfellow the gallant hero spends most of the time in conflict with the villainous Black Baron for the consideration of the fair Trudy Trulove. Women and child visitors can get involved in the pre show activities by volunteering to wear some of the period fashions and ride in the parade of vintage autos before the flying starts.
