This pier is the cleanest pier I have come across in California. It is diamond shaped then continues outward with a straight walkway.
I have seen one man take more fish than he could really carry at the part of the pier nearest to land. He informed me that he sells them to the restaurants.
Down below the pier on a stretch of beach filled with sand dollars you find people using their clam diggers to find clam and frequently do.
During the clam festival when the downtown area is filled with vendors and old cars, clamming on the beach hits peak.
