As part of my vacation in Sicily, I decided to take Italian classes. I signed up for the Babilonia School via their website and was not disappointed. (www.babilonia.it)
I was picked up from the airport and driven to a wonderful apartment. I had booked a single apartment and was amazed to find that for only 30,000 lire a night (roughly $15.00US), I had two stories, three beds, a T.V., a VCR, a full kitchen and bath, and view overlooking the sea. Such luxury! The school itself was fantastic and I learned a huge amount of Italian in my three weeks there. The teachers are friendly and funny. Most days there are special seminars or excursions which included: a tour of Taormina, a wine-tasting event, numerous films and lectures, an excursion to Catania, and an excursion to Etna. The lessons only lasted a few hours a day with weekends free. What a wonderful way to spend a vacation!!!!
