Captiva Island is one of those places that makes me never want to leave...and every visit to South Seas resort is just absolute paradise.
The resort has amazing landscaping throughout, and is so convenient once you're inside you really don't need to leave. You can relax on the beach or in one of many pools, play golf, kayak through the mangroves, rent a waverunner, go on snorkel trips...the choices are many.
There are several restaurants within the resort that are top quality, including Chadwick's which has a prime rib buffet to die for! Prices are reasonable there and at Cap'n Al's Dockside Grill. (I can't comment on the other restaurants because I haven't tried them yet.) One perk is the resort is about 5 minutes to The Bubble Room, a must-try for decadent desserts and an interesting mish-mosh of toys, trains and memorabilia to feast the eyes.
One nice thing about the resort is it's charge only! No cash, just your island charge card makes it quite easy to take care of your purchases. Then it's just a quick and tidy wrap up at the end on your credit card (and I believe you can pay cash on checkout).
All in all, between the accommodations, things to do, dining, beautiful surroundings and abundant wildlife, South Seas Plantation is the perfect place to experience captivating Captiva Island, Florida.
