You can come to Kampen by car: follow the highway to Zwolle. From the south you will see Kampen BEFORE you enter Zwolle. From the North you have to pass Zwolle, although when you look on the map it seems that Kampen is situated immediately to the west (about 13 km).
By public transport: take the train to Zwolle. Then on the far corner of this station, behind track 1, goes the train to Kampen. It's only one stop away. When you arrive by train you will immediately enjoy the impressive skyline of the city on the other side of the river IJssel.
A third possibility is to get here by boat. You can either book a trip from Enkhuizen, Lelystad, Hoorn or Amsterdam, or for the happy few, sail here by yourself from the IJsselmeer, or from the river IJssel.
It is only the centre that is nice to visit. If you come by car, or if you are a hiking or biking fan, you will be able to visit the towns around Kampen like IJselmuiden, Grafhorst, Kampereiland, Wilsum, Zalk (only by ferry) and many more interesting small villages. They are extremly worth the visit, but it takes some effort.
