W.M. Brook Park is 109 acres on Sulphur Creek. Located across the street from Hancock Springs, Brook Park has picnic tables with grills along the creek, playgrounds, and an 18-hole golf course. Cottonwood trees provide shade and the grounds are well-manicured. The Ruth F. Eakin amphitheater is a lovely place to watch a play. A tributary of the creek runs between the audience and stage, and a grassy hillside faces the stage. There is a kiosk located in the park with brochures and maps about local attractions. The pedestrian suspension bridge was inspired by a similar one near this location at the turn of the century, dedicated to citizens of Lampasas and commemorating the bicentennial.
