This village in the rainforest can be reached by riding the 7-mile sky rail from Cairns or driving up the winding tropical road. We liked the town immediately when we found parking slots marked 'Harleys Only' on the main street. Parking can be tight especially on 'market day'. No matter how you arrive, you'll find plenty to do here. Take a train ride through the rainforest; shop for gifts, souvenirs, or aboriginal art (how about that didgeridoo you've always wanted?). You can eat at one of the many restaurants, go to the Butterfly Sanctuary, the Tjapukai theater, or take the rainforest walk. We did all of the above and visited this village several times while in the area. Drive or take the sky rail; it's not to miss. And you can rent a Harley here, too.
