Keswick, a major town of the northern lakes,
is located at the top of Lake Derwenter
shadowed by the peaks of Skiddow and Blencathra.
Great authors such as Coleridge and Southey dwelt
here when creating their works. William Wordsworth
was a constant visitor and reminders of Beatrix Potter
dot the area.
Mountaineering has become popular here but for the
regular vacationer, the walking and hiking trails
are in the forefront. Boat trips on the lake leave
regularly and picnics in the perfectly groomed parks
here are a staple.
The Lake District is a large and scenic area to explore
and Keswick is a great base for your adventures.
The accommodation here is very reasonable. If you prefer
camping to add flavor to your stay here, there are also
plenty of campgrounds.
