One of my favorite things to collect when I travel is local recipes. I think I may now own at least four cookbooks from New Orleans, but no matter how many times I try I just can’t seem to recreate the magic of the local chefs. From po’boys to crawfish etouffe - the food is amazing. This is definitely a city that knows how to cook.
Here are a few of my favorites:
The Court of Two Sisters – Very romantic courtyard sitting, excellent food (Creole).
Crescent City Brew House – Great crawfish etouffe and alligator with very tasty beer to go with it.
Café du Monde - open 24 hours, a great place any time of day, but esp. after hitting the bars for late night beignets.
Red Fish Grill – Excellent seafood, nice casual atmosphere.
