New Orleans Stories and Tips

For those who want to see Dead People

New Orleans is full of spooky places and things to do. From vampire and ghost stories to Voodoo here’s a short list of some of the top attractions:

Anne Rice’s Halloween – A yearly gathering of devoted fans. If you like her books and love costume parties this is the event for you. (Tickets are available each year through ticketmaster.)

St Louis Cemetery #1 – Hauntingly beautiful it’s the resting place of Marie Laveau – New Orleans’ Voodoo Queen. I would advise going with a group to this attraction for safety reasons

The Voodoo Museum – A small museum hosting a historical variety of odd voodoo shrines and charms along with a gift shop.

Walking Tours – There’s at least a half dozen companies that offer tours of the city’s various haunted areas, cemeteries and voodoo sites, all of which can be easily booked upon arriving at your hotel.

The LaLaurie House – 1140 Royal St. Probably one of the most well known haunted houses, where over 150 years ago it was the scene of numerous torturous murders.
