Flattop mountain is just a short drive from downtown Anchorage. It's called Flattop because its top got shaved off, probably by a glacier (I'm no geologist.).
This was an easy to moderate hike. I did it the first day I got to Anchorage, and it was a great introduction to hiking. I don't do much hiking, and I didn't have trouble. It gets a bit difficult near the top, but it's fairly simple other than that.
At the top, there's an amazing view of downtown Anchorage, and it's definitely worth the hike.
