We are taking a nice fast train to Edinburgh from London, and at night the countryside is so dark is seems like we are riding through a tunnel. I think the train travels along the cliffs of the ocean, but it's hard to tell. I can sometimes catch a glimmer of moonlight from the ocean.
We'll go about four hours north to Scotland. We ate dinner in the dining car with an old couple who were from Glasgow. The old man was interesting- a long time ago he was a county-select cricketer, a RAF mosquito pilot, and a civil servant. A nice dinner conversation with a kind couple (at least when I could understand them).
The Train arrived just around 10:20 PM on a cold clear night.
