Quote: My family has stayed at the Key Ambassador many times--both back in the 70s before remodeling and now in the 90s and 00s. The stays seem to continue to improve each and every year. Yes, it is a hike to downtown but scooters, bikes, trollies, and cabs are available. And yes, the parking for those who drive is atrocious. However, once that obstacle is overcome, the rest of the experience is great.

The overall helpfulness of the staff makes a great stay even greater. One cannot praise Kate (day boss lady) enough for the way she goes far out of her way to make each and every person feel as if s/he is the only person staying at the motel. Each staff member goes beyond the call of duty to make each and everyone feel welcome.

We are counting the days until we can return and enjoy another day in Paradise.

Quote: We stayed at the Key Ambassador Sept 2 thru the 6th and unfortunately had to leave two days early due to Hurricane Ike. The hotel room (king with queen sofa) was very comfortable and clean. The hotel grounds and pool area were very nice and clean. The pool was exceptional with a great view of the ocean. During our visit, we found the hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the downtown area. The hotel is a trolley/bus stop. We opted for a rental car, but you can expect all day parking to run around 10 to 15 dollars per day in the downtown area. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Key Ambassador and plan on returning next spring.

Quote: I am the Captain of an aircraft that was being ferried back to the US from South America. I and my crew were checking in after a long day. Reservations were arrainged by my company ahead of time. The so called weekend supervisor was rude, and obnoxious upon our arrival. Refused to check us in without a photo copy of our company's credit card and totally disagreable. I was forced to use my own credit card and even then he was very uncooperative. We will be conducting international operations, which will take us through Key West routinely, but we will NOT stay here. The lady at the desk the next morning stated that she routinely has to clear up messes that he leaves over the weekend.

Quote: Excellent location. Close to everything but far enough away from the noise and traffic. Great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Located close to Key West Airport but the kids loved watching planes come in low overhead. Pool was clean and the grounds were beautiful and well cared for. Breakfast was fresh and great selection. If you want a clean, inexpensive place to stay, this is the place to be. Will go back next year.
