Quote: We used to love Gurneys, but it is no longer a place for an adult spa experience. The ambiance is YMCA. Eyesores litter the water view - tacky plastic chairs for weddings are stored stacked up right on the beach. In fall and winter, fishermen are allowed to drive their SUVs up and down the beach. It looks like a construction sight. I've almost been hit twice. Loud amplified music blasts outdoors from exercise classes. In the mornings, the townspeople have their water exercises in the pool. They exercise to ghetto blasters. They are rude to hotel guests trying to swim around them. In the afternoon, families bring their small children to swim. There is rarely a quiet, uncrowded time to swim or use the spa. Guests hoping for pleasant ambiance, go elsewhere.

Quote: The studio for four was perfect for two people. It had a comfortable bed and cable TV, along with a great view of the beach. Every unit has a view of the beach. There is no 'bad' view. Spa amens for the ladies to pamper themselves, while the guys go and and do guy stuff.

Quote: Best Things Nearby:
Excellent walks and trails in one direction while on the other direction you find the 'Hamptons', which is a happening place way out in Long Island for the up and coming professionals of New York City.

Best Things About the Resort:
Its location on the beach is a plus, as is its indoor spa services with fresh ocean water.

Resort Experience:
I have been here on the winter at year's end. Three times already and each time has been a wonderful experience for me. Looking at the beach and walking on the beach while meditating on the year just ending and making room for the new one is a wonderful and needed activity. Many places to eat around the area and nearby small towns, plus the restaurant on site.
