Bayview Park Hotel Manila

I stayed here for several nights in February 2009. This is an old hotel but they try to do it right. No lobby to speak of for sitting and no hotel bar. Not to worry, Swagman Hotel is just around the corner and has a decent bar, excellent food, and free broadband wireless internet access. Just buy a San Miguel for $.75 and sit in the restaurant or bar to access free net. Skip paying for the lousy, expensive net access at the Bayview. Decent breakfast buffet is included in room rate. This is a busy hotel right across the street from the US embassy. I was on the 5th floor and had no complaints. Decent sized rooms but remember this is an old hotel so do not expect 5 stars. AC turns on with room key so room will be warm until it cools down. Staff very friendly. I would stay there again for the convenient location and free airport shuttle service. Decent, not fancy. Baywalk is down Roxas Blvd. Not the greatest neighborhood but I felt quite safe walking around. 7-11 around corner and up the street. Shakey's Pizza a few blocks south and several Chinese and seafood restaurants within walking distance. Short cab ride to Robinsons Mall, longer cab ride to Mall of Asia. Near Rizal Park. Very pleasant stay.
