Quote: swing Photo - Cameron Park Zoo, Waco, Texas On one of our trips to Waco, my son and I decided to go to the zoo, while my husband took a test for grad school. I decided to go here because it was surprisingly cheep and thought it would give us something to do for an extended amount of time. I did not have high expectations since it was small and cheep. Boy was I amazed to see how good the zoo actually was. We were there for several hours and ended up having to leave early because my husband was done.

When we first got in we immediately saw lots of monkeys. We did not have to wait for them to come out. They were out and active. Next we saw a tiger and a lion and yes even elephants, no not a bear. All the animals were within great sight and very active, I was quite surprised. We next saw the giraffes, they were pretty entertaining as well and you were able to get pretty close to them.

After a couple of hours of walking We needed to rest or at least I did. Here at the zoo they had a huge play ground for the kids. It was a tree house with a slide, a rope and also some water sprayers. A great place for the kids to run and the parents to relax.

After we were done playing we finished up the zoo and bought some souvenirs. It was a great way to kill some time in Waco and well worth the money.

Parking is free and here are the admission prices:
* Adults(13+) - $7
* Children 4-12 yrs - $5
* Sr. Citizens (60+) - $6
* Children3 years old and under - free

Quote: Another shot of the giraffes Photo - Cameron Park Zoo, This is a great getaway for the whole family. My 5 kids ranging 2 to 11 years old all loved it! This was a last minute trip that my husband decided while we were on the road. This zoo is big enough to have a good variety of animals but small enough that you don't have to make extensive plans for it. They are always working to add or improve things so going more than once is still fun.
