Quote: BEACH Photo - Hale Kona Kai, Kailua Kona, Hawaii My husband and I just returned home from our first trip to the BIg Island and it was fantastic! We had been to the other islands before but they seemed too much like "theme parks". The Big Island is the REAL Hawaii!!

Hale Kona Kai #409 was the real treat however. Sparkling clean and completely remodeled (at nearly half the price of the other oceanfront condos here)!! A friend told us to search the internet for tideldave and we would find his wonderful website and unbelievable price.

We swam in the peaceful little lagoon next door every morning. Saw giant turtles and whales. What a fabulous "one of a kind" location. I can see why everyone falls in love with his place and never wants to leave.

This condo was truly a blessing when we had just about given up on finding a premium place to stay on a budget.

Quote: Hale Kona Kai Photo - Hale Kona Kai, Hawaii (Big Island), Hawaii Our family stayed here last month and had a wonderful time, our lanai was about 20 feet to the ocean and we were able to see schools of fish swimming, turtle eating, and dolphins. We even saw some whales! We did a fair amount of cooking at the condo and eating out on the lanai, the sunsets were so amazing that it did not make sense to go out to eat when we had a ring side seat. Town was a short walk so we did walk into town to eat a few times, loved Huggos. I walked to the farmers market almost every morning and bought some great fruit for breakfast.

We used the pool a few times, very nice and warm. Next door there is a lagoon that we swam in, a turtle swam with us one morning and that was one of the highlights! The condo itself was very pretty, we had a king bed in the bedroom and a nice TV which we hardly used, the bedroom window was on the ocean so we could hear the waves all night and see the ocean first thing in the morning. The kitchen was great and had things like a blender, coffee bean grinder, microwave, all the things we were looking for. Living room had a flat-screen TV, stereo, DVD player and that was how we went to the lanai, which is where we spent the majority of our time. They had air conditioning, which we did not need, free parking which my husband was happy about (we stayed a few nights on Maui and had to pay for parking) and an elevator.

The woman in the office was very helpful, we found fresh flowers in the condo when we arrived, when we stopped by to thank her we found out she grew them herself and we all got to talking about flowers. We made reservations via the 800 number we found in a guide book, the reservation person (Adeline) gave us the web site which I really enjoyed because you can see lots of photos of each condo they have. She also helped us with suggestions on snorkel trips, the Volcano National Park and places to eat. I think anyone looking for a condo should consider Hale Kona Kai, we are already planning a trip back.

Quote: At Hale Kona Kai you are so close to the ocean, any closer you would be swimming! We watched Honu (Turtle), Whales and Spinner Dolphin right from the private lanai (balcony). All the condos are 1 bedroom 1 bath units, our kitchen was well equipped with full sized all electrical appliances, utensils, dishes and linens. All of the condos have a private lanai off of the living room and overlooking the sparkling Pacific Ocean and the gentle waves of Kailua Bay. The bedrooms also are on the ocean and we loved listening to the ocean as we feel asleep. It is a quiet and secluded little hideaway on a little side street but only a 2 block walk to Kailua Kona town and a 1 block walk to a little white sand beach. We walked to restaurants, shops, and tennis.

We enjoyed the wonderful sea side pool. There is central air in each unit, coin operated washers dryers on each floor, an elevator, free wifi, and free reserved parking. We loved unit 213, everything remodeled and updated and the lanai hung over the ocean.
